Privacy Policy — Mac App Store edition

This policy describes the Mac App Store edition of Have You Rested, developed by ROLIA GROUP LIMITED. The separately distributed website/DMG edition uses a different purchase and licensing system.

Camera and activity

Camera-based features process camera frames on your Mac, in memory, to estimate whether you are looking at the screen, looking away or absent. Frames are discarded; the app does not record or upload camera images or video. Activity summaries and preferences stay on your Mac.

Purchases and updates

The Mac App Store edition uses Apple's StoreKit for purchases, subscription status and purchase restoration. The app reads verified purchase information to determine Pro access. It does not send a hardware-identifier hash, purchase email, camera frames or activity statistics to our licensing server. This edition does not use Paddle or Sparkle.

Apple handles the Apple Account, payment and App Store purchase information under Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. The app does not receive or store payment card information.

Local storage

Preferences, calibration settings, activity summaries and discovered StoreKit subscription-group identifiers are stored locally in macOS UserDefaults. The app obtains Pro access from verified StoreKit information rather than a locally stored Paddle license token.

Analytics and external links

The Mac App Store app contains no analytics, telemetry or advertising SDKs. Public website links open in your browser. The website's separate policy describes website tracking: https://have-you-rested.rolia.ee/privacy.
